February 2015 Training Events

We’ve got courses coming up in February that you can get involved with, so here is a brief overview of what’s happening this month so you can get your place booked!

Introduction to Benefits – Thursday 26th February 2015

This one-day course from 10:00-16:00 has been organised by the Talking Money team in Bristol, with a view to provide frontline workers with the tools necessary to support clients with welfare benefits needs.

You will gain more knowledge about what people are entitled to and how their benefits request will be calculated, as well as all the up-to-date information about the welfare system as it stands and any upcoming reforms so you can effectively assist your clients.

Welfare Benefits Overview – Thursday 26th February 2015

If you are a worker or volunteer looking to know more about the welfare benefits system, this free one-day course will provide you with all the main information on the subject so that you can be confident in advising people where to go next.

Running from 9:30-16:00, by the end of the course you will know the most common benefits and problems with claiming benefits, as well as the most recent updates to the benefits system. Additionally, you will learn to identify other ways for clients with a low income or already on benefits to boost their income.
